Hulk Role in AVENGERS 2 is Bigger and More Complex

In the latest issue of Total Film magazine, Mark Ruffalo teases that Bruce Banner’s giant green counterpart, The Hulk will be getting more screen time and character development in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

“[My role’s] even bigger than last time, and it’s more complex and it has more layers and a bit more arc,”

says Ruffalo.

Maybe Ultron figures out how to manipulate the Hulk into hindering the Avengers.

OK, more Hulk is always welcome. As you probably already know, Ruffalo was working with Andy Serkis to perfect the Hulk, which might be one of the reasons why he finds motion-capture technology more amenable to his performance for the sequel:

“I’m really tripping on the technology of this motion-capture stuff… now I just completely embrace it and see it as this other exciting place we can go as performers.”

Hulk fans think about a Hulk solo movie, but it seems that Marvel currently feels he works better as part of a team.

Joss Whedon-directed Avengers: Age of Ultron also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, and James Spader, and it opens May 1, 2015.
