In an interview with London’s Telegraph, Queen Elsa herself, Idina Menzel hinted that the follow-up to the Disney hit Frozen is in the works. Well, it’s no shocker to anyone that  Frozen sequel was in the works a day after they finished making the first.

The Broadway vet didn’t provide any specifics about the rumors of a sequel and stage musical as well as a short film hitting theaters in 2015. She only confirmed that the wheels are already turning on a second installment of the No. 1 animated hit of all time (with nearly $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office).

“They’re all in the works. Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride,” Menzel said.

The 43-year-old Long Island native admitted she was stunned to be swept up in the film’s success and her new-found fame among its young fan base.

“I remember some of those classic Disney songs from movies, and you knew the character but you didn’t know the person behind the song. But this is different, this is weird,” she said.

Yeah, weird indeed. People are still singing this and I don’t know why.

Menzel and co-stars Kristen Bell and Josh Gadd are expected to reprise their roles of Anna and Olaf in a one-off short, Frozen Fever, next year. The mini-adventure will feature a new original song penned by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who won an Oscar for hit song “Let It Go,” which is sung by Menzel (if your somehow missed it), but it’s not yet known if it will air on TV or in theaters.

We have an untitled Disney animated film scheduled for November 2018, but we’ll have to wait and see if that will be the Andersen-inspired full-length feature with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf. Either way, 2018 is gonna be huge for the Mouse House.
