Is Dave Bautista the New Bond Villain?

There’s a new hot, juicy rumor going around about James Bond’s next henchman-like adversary!

Back in August, the rumor broke that the next Bond movie was looking to cast an iconic henchman called Hinx or Jinx (in the style of Jaws and Oddjob).

Now, LR‘s scooper supreme, Umberto Gonzales, aka El Mayimbe (“El maybe”) reports that role of the physically imposing henchman has been filled by none other than Guardians of the Galaxy star, the WWE wrestler Dave Batista, whose real name is David Bautista.

This Latino-Review announcement comes hot on the heels of a report from Baz Bamigboye, an entertainment scooper for the UK Daily Mail, who claimed that Lea Seydoux has also scored a role in the as-yet untitled Sam Mendes’ Bond 24.

Hinx (Male, 30 – 45) – Ideally over 6′ 2″. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.

Well, Bautista certainly fits the bill. He was perfect in Guardians because his awkward acting made sense. It would take another real good script to be able to fit him in.

Previous reports claim “WWE officials were hoping Batista would hold off on his Hollywood career for a little longer because he was originally promised he would face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 30 for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.”  If this latest rumor comes true, Daniel Craig is going to need to start working out if he wants to stand a chance against the former WWE Champion.

If LR’s words mean nothing to you, you’re going to wait for a more reliable source, of course.

The Bond 24 film enters production on December 6th for a late 2015 release (October 23th in U.K. and November 6th in U.S. theaters) and aims to complete the Skyfall story. Craig is reprising the role of James Bond (007) for the fourth time and we can expect Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear all set to reprise their roles from 2012’s Skyfall.
