Jack Huston Confirmed as THE CROW in Corin Hardy’s Remake

Relativity Studios Remake

UPDATE: Jessica Brown Findlay (“Downtown Abbey”) will reportedly take the role of Eric Draven’s murdered girlfriend Shelly in flashbacks.

The “Boardwalk Empire” star has reportedly been cast to play the lead role of Eric Dfaven in the Corin Hardy-directed reboot of cult revenge classic The Crow.

Dread Central spoke with The Crow creator James O’Barr who stated that Huston has, “…definitely been cast,” and that he was, “…really happy with that choice.” Written by Cliff Dorfman (Warrior), the remake of the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed adaptation of the original graphic novel is expected to shoot within a couple of months.

The Hallow‘s Corin Hardy recently signed on to helm the project after F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before the Fall) moved on to helm The Ring 3. Dracula Untold star Luke Evans also decided to leave the project last month.

Since then, Relativity Studios has set its sights on Jack Huston to play the lead character. He’s currently in the last stages of shooting Timur Bekmambetov‘s reboot of the Biblical epic Ben-Hur.The fast-rising actor is also playing in the movie version of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and recently wrapped the George Tillman-directed adaptation of Nicholas SparksThe Longest Ride.

Um…I dunno, so many “Boardwalk Empire” stars are nabbing big roles, I should watch that show.

UPDATE: Check out a videotaped Q&A with O’Barr at the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. I just hope they don’t come up with some silly Catwoman-like outfit.

“Can’t rain all the time.”
