James Bobin Confirmed to Direct ‘MIB 23’

While promoting the upcoming Alice in Wonderland sequel, Alice Through the Looking Glass, director James Bobin confirmed that he will helm the Jump Street and Men in Black crossover titled MIB 23.

“Yes, it’s very early stages, obviously, but I’ve always loved the ‘Men in Black’ world. Channing [Tatum] and Jonah [Hill] in ’21 Jump Street’ are just so funny. Those guys and their world makes me laugh every time I think about it. That’s always a good sign for a film,” Bobin said.

Shooting will begin later this year. It is not yet known what the plot of a Jump Street/MIB crossover will revolve around, but it might have aliens. No cast members have officially signed on to star in the film, but many speculate that Tatum and Hill will reprise their roles as Jenko and Schmidt. However, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be doing the same as Agent Jay and Kay.

I thought it didn’t even occur but now I’m worried. I don’t think the sense of humor of these two franchises are similar at all. It seems like they just want to have Tatum and Hill be cast in a Men in Black movie, but they didn’t know how to not make it confusing to the Jump Street fans. Meh.
