Jared Leto Rumored for DOCTOR STRANGE Role

After the news that Marvel Studios has found its Doctor Strange director, rumors immediately arose that one of actors that may possibly play the title role is Oscar winner Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club).

Actually, in an Badass Digest article, reporting Scott Derrickson‘s  (Sinister) announcement, the site says that they

have also heard that Marvel likes (or liked, I don’t know what the current status of this is) Jared Leto for Stephen Strange.

Well, it’s never a mistake to get an Academy Award winning actor, but we’ll have a better idea on who Marvel will select as powerful sorcerer at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con, scheduled for July 24-27, when Marvel is gearing to reveal some major casting information.

Mads Mikkelsen, Johnny Depp and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have also been rumored for that role as well.

There’s not word yet on a screenplay which is believed to be in the vein of Iron Man, with the story focusing on brash, cocky young neurosurgeon Stephen Strange.

One of two spots set for Marvel’s as-yet unnamed features, on July 8, 2016 and on May 5, 2017, could be Doctor Strange‘s release date.

In the meanwhile, Marvel still tries to fix Ant-Man, now that director Edgar Wright is gone, and start shooting that film in July.
