Warner Brothers has dropped the first trailer for This is Where I Leave You, a film adaption of Jonathan Tropper‘s best-selling novel by the same name, starring Tina Fey and Jason Bateman.

The Shawn Levy-directed dramedy with the killer ensemble cast that also includes Adam Driver, Cory Stoll, Jane Fonda, Rose Byrne, Kathryn Hahn, Corey Stoll, Connie Britton, Ben Schwartz, Timothy Olyphant, Aaron Lazar, Debra Monk, Abigail Spencer, and Dax Shepard, hits theaters on September 12.

It looks like they’re playing off each other wonderfully and looks like we have comedy with some really poignant parts throw in, finally.

The film took great liberties with the original text of the novel, but since the author himself wrote the screenplay, I’m OK with some of the changes made for the big screen version.

Hit the jump to heck out the first trailer for Shawn Levy’s This Is Where I Leave You and if you haven’t read the novel, do so.

When their father passes away, four grown siblings, bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Confronting their history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, they ultimately reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide—driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.
