Jason Momoa Cast as Aquaman in BATMAN V SUPWEMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE?

Now it’s clear that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is –  let’s cut – it’s a Justice League movie, not a true sequel to Man of Steel.

Hitfix has confirmed that Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa will be playing Aquaman in both Zack Snyder‘s Dawn of Justice and Justice League movies.

In addition, the report says that Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon. The King of Atlantis will cameo in Dawn ahead of a larger appearance in League.

However, it seems the mass destruction in the final act of Man of Steel will have an effect on Dawn of Justice, with Lex Luther using it to make Superman “look like a monster” and it also upsetting Aquaman. Justice League is said to be filmed back-to-back with Dawn of Justice, hitting theaters May 6, 2016.

“What we’re hearing is that he is not pleased about the World Engine and what it did to the Indian Ocean,”

says the usually credible Drew McWeeny of Hitfix.

Momoa himself has denied he was playing blonde white hero at Bucharest comic-con last month:

“I know, Aquaman! I couldn’t even be more random for Aquaman, you know, with the blonde hair… I don’t even know where that comes from – it’s like me being… uh… Robin or something. Who pulls that out? I see that on the internet and I’m like, Aquaman? A guy like… Lobo I could see.“

If this turns out to be true, Momoa will look like the one that’s not so smart for telling people he’s annoyed by the media linking him to the Aquaman role. But it could also be that the rumors of him playing Aquaman are starting again.

The sea-based superhero – created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger in November 1941 – is a founding member of the Justice League of America with utterly useless powers in comparison to the other superheroes. (He has the ability to live under water and communicate telepathically with sea creatures).
