Jennifer Lawrence & Bradley Cooper Back Together in the First U.S. SERENA Trailer

Magnolia Pictures has debuted first U.S. trailer for Serena, two years after Susanne Bier wrapped production on this period melodrama.

Based on a 2008 novel by Ron Rash, the film follows George and Serena, a 1920s newlyweds who begin to build a timber empire. After starring in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper reteam again in the Depression-era tale which is good a stuff on paper, but early reviews have indicated that movie looks too sappy and has a pretty lame storyline.

It’s hard at this point to not have a negative predisposition, but the movie’s first trailer does a good job hiding the fact that Serena proved unable to secure a distributor for quite some time. Anyway, let the American’s movie-going public decide whether or not to give them money.

The film also stars Toby Jones and Rhys Ifans, and is scheduled to hit on-demand services February 26, and will be released in theaters on March 27, 2015.
