Jennifer Lawrence Confirms APOCALYPSE Will Be Her Last X-MEN Movie

X-Men Franchise Cast

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence told MTV News, at the premiere of her latest project Serena, that she will not be returning for a fourth outing in the X-Men film franchise after X-Men: Apocalypse.

“It is my last one, actually,” she said when asked if X-Men: Apocalypse will be her last film in the franchise, and reaffirmed it with a firm, “Yes.”

Lawrence has portrayed a sweet and shape-shifting Raven Darkholme in 2011’s X-Men: First Class and was a badass Mystique in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and she will reprise the role for X-Men: Apocalypse.

J Law is the second X-Men star to tease her departure from the franchise. According to CBR,

Nicholas Hoult told a SXSW audience that the upcoming sequel will be his final appearance as the X-Men’s Hank McCoy, aka Beast. Hoult also indicated that his character’s final story arc will be closely entwined with Lawrence’s Mystique, following up on the pair’s “First Class” relationship.

We will probably find out how it all comes together when X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters May 27, 2016. I feel like she’s pretty disinterested with the franchise, but don’t blame her. Fox haven’t gave the character a real use anyway. I’d be pretty bummed if Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were to depart, though.
