Today we finally have our first glimpse of the supernatural thriller Jessabelle, another Blumhouse production, starring Mark Webber of 13 Sins.

By the look of things, we won’t feel safe in the bathwater.

Directed by Kevin Greutert, the film also stars Australian newcomer Sarah Snook int the title role, along with David Andrews, Joelle Carter, and Ana de la Reguera.

After losing her fiancé in a horrific car wreck, Jessabelle is forced to return to her father’s ruined Louisiana mansion, where she discovers a strange gift from her long-dead mother, a spirit haunting the halls that’s not about to leave her alone, even when she’s in the tub.

Says Webber:

“That film is more of a slow burn, more of a classic haunting about this kind of presence. It’s about this kind of slow burning build, this tension, which was really, really fun to make, ultimately as well. That’s more of a ghost film, whereas “13 Sins” is like more of an action-thriller than like a horror movie. “Jessabelle” has more suspense elements involved, which was really cool.”

Lionsgate will release the movie on August 29.

Get a first look below and stay tuned to see the debut of the trailer on Thursday, April 24.
