Josh Brolin is Thanos in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

We got our first look at Thanos in the first Avengers post-credits sequence (played by stuntman/actor Damion Poitier), strongly suggesting that the part would be recast as the villain took on a larger role in future films.

Well, the good people over at Latino Review have broken an exclusive saying that Thanos will be played by none other than Josh Brolin in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Actually, Brolin is being asked to voice a CG character, a member of the Eternals, a powerful race of obsessed beings that includes The Collector, who will be played by Benicio Del Toro. It’s likely he’ll join James Spader and Tom Hiddleston as actors who have tried to kill The Avengers.

And bearing in mind that both Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper provided some level of motion-capture alongside the voicing of Groot and Rocket, I would love to see them mo-cap him like they did Mark Ruffalo for Hulk.

Moreover, The Wrap has confirmed Latino Review’s scoop that Josh Brolin will also appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron next year. However, Thanos “will have a more prominent role” in that film than he does in Guardians of the Galaxy, which opens in theaters on August 1.

I can definitely see Brolin’s gravelly voice coming from that purple mouth.
