Josh Gad Cast as LeFou in Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Beauty And The Beast

Heat Vision reports that Frozen star Josh Gad has been cast as LeFou, Gaston’s (Luke Evans) sidekick, in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast.

Just like the lovable snowman Olaf, LeFou is pretty epic as a Disney character, but I’m rather surprised the voice of Olaf would want to play the sidekick of one of Disney’s most infamous villains.

Anyway, he’s a great singer and the first American to join the cast, which also includes Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast/Prince.

At this time, the actor took to Twitter to share a picture of him with the character.

Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) will direct the film from a script being written by Stephen Chbosky, who directed Watson in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The project is based on the classic French fairy tale of “a young woman who takes her father’s place as a prisoner in a monstrous being’s castle, only to fall in love with the creature who turns out to be a prince.”

A remake of the Oscar-winning 1991 animated movie goes into production this year and is expected to arrive sometime after the new versions of The Jungle Book and Pete’s Dragon.
