Katherine Waterston will Play the Lead in Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien: Covenant’

Alien: Covenant Casting

According to Deadline Hollywood, Inherent Vice star Katherine Waterston will join Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace in Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant, the Prometheus sequel that “follows the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Waterston will reportedly play a character by the name of Daniels, which is the same role Rebecca Ferguson had been rumored for.

Alien: Covenant is expected to be the first of a new trilogy of Alien films that will link Prometheus with Scott’s original Alien movie. Jack Paglen (Transcendence) and Michael Green (Green Lantern) are providing the script. The film opens on October 6, 2017.

Prometheus Sequel

Waterston recently played Fassbender’s ex in Steve Jobs. Interesting choice. I wonder how Rapace will fit into all this? She will reportedly return for the Prometheus sequel but in a much smaller role.
