It appears that Disney/Lucasfilm is no longer moving forward with the long-in-development Boba Fett movie.

Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy has reportedly confirmed that yet another solo anthology film was dead, and that the priority is the series. The news comes from Emmy-winning Sirius XM journalist Erick Weber. Here’s what she said:

Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars series, will be coming exclusively to Disney Play sometime next year and follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The previously unknown Madalorian character seems to have all the elements that made Boba Fett cool anyway. As for Fett, maybe a comic will further explore his adventures. He’s a great side character, but I’m not sure if he can be main character.
