Kevin Feige Teases New Avengers Lineup After AGE OF ULTRON

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirms to BuzzFeed that we will be seeing a new roster of Avengers by the time the credits roll on next summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron:

“The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins. It’s like as it was in publishing,” he tells the outlet, “when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film.”

This lines up with previous rumors that suggested Avengers 3 will feature an entirely new assembly of characters, possibly a splinter team aligned with Captain America ahead of the upcoming Civil War. Well, it could just be Quicksilver,Scarlet Witch and The Vision joining the team, but I hope it just isn’t that.

“It has to be this way” Iron Man says in the original comics. “The ranks of the Avengers will always need replenishing! The old must ever give way to the new!”

There is at least the possibility that the movie could go to another way and debut all kinds of superheroes from Marvel Comics that we haven’t seen on the big screen yet. We need Black Panther and Captain Marvel on the team!

We won’t be waiting too long until we get official confirmation, as Marvel have a press event scheduled for tomorrow, Oct. 28, in Los Angeles.

Avengers: Age of Ultron arrives in theaters on May 1st.
