Legendary Actor Leonard Nimoy Dies at 83

Star Trek Mr. Spock

The legendary Leonard Nimoy, Mr. Spock of the Star Trek franchise, died this morning in Bel Air at age 83 as a result of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His most famous post-Star Trek role was probably William Bell, one of the villains of the FOX’s cult sci-fi series “Fringe”.

Nimoy wrote his last message to fans on Twitter, posted on Monday (for non-Trekkers, LLAP means ‘Live Long and Prosper’):

Well, he lived long, and he prospered. We were all the better for it.
