Leonardo DiCaprio & Brad Pitt’s First Look in Tarantino’s Sharon Tate Drama
Leonardo DiCaprio took to Instagram Wednesday morning to share a photo of himself and co-star Brad Pitt from the set of Quentin Tarantino’s entertainment industry tale Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. You can check out the first look photo of Leo and Brad — both dressed in ’60s garb — below.
Set against the backdrop of the murder of Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie in the film, in the summer of 1969, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follows DiCaprio’s character, Rick Dalton, a former western TV series star who lives next door to Tate and her then-husband Roman Polanski, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt) as they are struggling to make it into big-time Hollywood.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is said to be similar to a “Pulp Fiction-like tapestry” that covers a group of characters during that summer. It’s been made clear that Charles Manson and the famed Manson family murders won’t be the main focus.
Among the cast is Timothy Olyphant, Al Pacino, Burt Reynolds, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Clifton Collins, Keith Jefferson, Emile Hirsch, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Scoot McNairy and Nicholas Hammond.
Tarantino’s ninth feature opens on August 9, 2019, the 50th anniversary of Sharon Tate’s death.
