The First Trailer for Horror Reboot LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS

EW has debuted the first trailer from Leprechaun: Origins, this summer horror reboot starring Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl in the title role.

Unfortunately, unlike the first clip released from the film (below), the trailer doesn’t feature any actual sneak peek of Leprechaun and is a big pile of nothing.

The seventh entry in the Leprechaun franchise is directed by Zach Lipovsky and written by first-timer Harris Wilkinson. WWE pint-sized wrestler Hornswoggle has taken over the role that put Warwick Davis on the map.

The reboot hits VOD and digital HD August 26th, co-starring Stephanie Bennett (Grave Encounters 2), Andrew Dunbar (Alien Trespass), Melissa Roxburgh (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days) and Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs Jason).

Check out the trailer and clip below.

Leprechaun: Origins focuses on two young couples who, while backpacking through the Irish countryside, “quickly discover the idyllic land is not what it appears to be be when [a] town’s residents offer the hikers an old cabin at the edge of the woods. Soon, the friends will find that one of Ireland’s most famous legends is a terrifying reality.
