Margot Robbie and David Ayer Reunite for ‘Gotham City Sirens’ Movie
Heat Vision brings word that Suicide Squad director David Ayer and star Margot Robbie will team up again for Gotham City Sirens, the newly titled project which features a bunch of female supervillains from DC Comics.
The script is being written by Tomb Raider remake scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and will share a name with the Paul Dini/Guillem March ongoing series from the turn of the decade.
In addition to Harley Quinn, the all-female, all-villain DCU movie could include Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Batgirl and Birds of Prey were mentioned in early reports, but currently there’s no word on the possibility of their appearing.
There’s not yet a release date set for Sirens, but the studio is reportedly fast-tracking the film. I trust that David Ayer will do an awesome job and not be as rushed as he was with Suicide Squad. By the way, Suicide Squad sequel as well as a spin-off focused on Will Smith’s assassin Deadshot are also in the cards.
