Mark Ruffalo Reiterates Marvel’s Idea of Another Hulk Movie

Many of you would love to see a standalone Hulk movie in Phase III, but Mark Ruffalo thinks that Marvel is also keen to give the green guy his own movie again.

While promoting the release of Begin Again, the actor has confirmed what one-time Incredible Hulk TV series co-star Lou Ferrigno let it slip in early May:

“I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it. When we did ‘The Avengers’ it was basically ‘No!’, and now there is some consideration for it. But there’s still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut.”

I liked Ruffalo’s take on Hulk, but there really is no need to give him another solo movie as we’ve gotten two iterations of it already (with 2003′s Hulk and then The Incredible Hulk). The character is too simple, but on the other hand, there are storylines from the comics that have big-screen potential such as Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

And I must admit that Hulk fans would be willing to give another solo outing a fair shot.

I’m pretty sure if Planet Hulk is made, it depends on the success Guardians of the Galaxy as well as how audiences react to the big guy in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which gives the character a “bigger, more complex” role.
