Mark Wahlberg Deals with Disaster in First Trailer for ‘Deepwater Horizon’

Wahlberg And Hudson

Summit Entertainment has released the first trailer for Peter Berg’s true-story action drama Deepwater Horizon, which stars Mark Wahlberg as real-life hero Mike Williams.

The film depicts the largest offshore oil spill in U.S. history when the BP oil rig exploded near the coast of Louisiana in April 2010, and killed 11 crewman.

Also starring Kurt Russell, Gina Rodriguez, Kate Hudson, Dylan O’Brien, and John Malkovich, Deepwater Horizon opens in theaters on September 30th. Check out the first trailer and poster below.

This trailer mostly focuses on Wahlberg, who plays the second-in-command, and his wife, played by Kate Hudson, but this is really well executed trailer. The track fits the tone and style of the trailer. Waste of a good Coke though.

Peter Berg’s Action Drama

Based on the true events that occurred on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010, the story chronicles the courage of those who worked on the Deepwater Horizon and the extreme moments of bravery and survival in the face of what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in world history.
