Matt Damon Confirms Another Jason Bourne Movie with Paul Greengrass

Matt Damon, Ben Affleck And HBO Reveals Winner Of "Project Greenlight" Season 4 - Red Carpet

Matt Damon on Friday confirmed reports that surfaced earlier this fall saying he will be reunite with director Paul Greengrass for another installment of The Bourne Identity franchise. Well actually, Ben Affleck broke the confirmation of Damon’s return to a new Bourne movie during press for the new season of their reality series “Project Greenlight”:

“Well, [Damon’s] going to be doing a Bourne movie next fall when I’ve just completely lost any semblance of physical fitness. So….,”

Affleck told E! News, and Damon quickly confirmed.

“It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.”

The actor said he had no interest in returning to the series without Greengrass. The British filmmaker wasn’t interested in returning to the series at all. However, it seems that both have had a change of heart reflecting a change in ones bank balance. And Damon did exactly what he said he would. And suddenly, all felt right in the universe.

Anyway, Bourne 5 with Damon and Greengrass coming first in the summer of 2016 and The Bourne Legacy spin-off with Jeremy Renner will remain in development for release at another time. The fifth overall film in the series, starring Matt Damon is aiming to reach theaters on July 15th, 2016.
