Michael Myers Confirmed in HALLOWEEN Reboot

The Curse Of Michael Myers

After many rumors and much speculation, Michael Myers will stalk again in a new Halloween film. Dimension Films and Trancas International Films have officially announced that Halloween Returns, the 11th film in the Myers franchise, goes into production this July.

The new project will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers and will be directed by Saw writer Marcus Dunstan from a script he wrote alongside Patrick Melton.

According to Moviehole:

The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.

Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.”

I am not a big fan of slasher films, so the theme is definitely not up my alley.

The killer was first introduced in John Carpenter’s 1978 original movie. The most recent films in the franchise were directed by Rob Zombie: 2007’s Halloween and 2009’s Halloween II. At least, I’m thrilled this ain’t going to be related since it will attempt to pave a new continuity from 1981’s Halloween II. Halloween Returns has no set release date at this time.
