Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien 5’ is Not Happening Says Ridley Scott

The original Alien director Ridley Scott has been asked by French film blog Allocine about Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 movie and he suggests it’s no longer an active project at all.

“I don’t think it will ever see the light of day. There was never a script. Just an idea that evolved from a dozen or so pages. I had to participate as producer, but it didn’t go farther because Fox decided it didn’t want to do it. As far I was concerned, I had already done Prometheus and I was working on Covenant.“

According to AVP Galaxy, who posted an English translation of Scott’s remark, a script for the film was reportedly completed with James Cameron described it as “amazing.”

Sure, it’s disappointing that we won’t be able to see Blomkamp’s sequel, but this all felt somewhat inevitable, something Blomkamp himself has hinted at in a response to a fan question about Alien 5.

I would personally rather see Blomkamp’s take on Alien than any “Pseudo Alien movie” that Scott ever will release. Time is on Neill’s side.
