New CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA International Trailer Stars Kristen Stewart

We’ve already seen that Chloe Moretz was pretty cute and that Kristen Stewart was awesome in Olivier Assayas‘ industry centered drama Clouds of Sils Maria. The new international trailer is here to prove it.

Juliette Binoche stars as an aging actress who becomes obsessed with a younger actress (Moretz) playing the role that made the older actress famous when she was young.  Stewart plays Maria’s (Binoche) assistant.

Angela Winkler, Johnny Flynn and Lars Eidinger co-star.

There’s no release date yet for the film which premiered at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival to positive reviews. In France, this German-French-Swiss co-production is known by the original name, Sils Maria.

Check out the new international trailer below and keep your fingers crossed for Clouds of Sils Maria to be released shortly.

And here’s Robbie Collin of Daily Telegraph statement instead of a synopsis:

“This is a complex, bewitching and melancholy drama, another fearlessly intelligent film from Assayas” and praising the performance said that “Binoche plays the role with elegance and melancholic wit – her character slips between fiction and fact in a way that recalls her role in Abbas Kiarostami’s Certified Copy. But it’s Stewart who really shines here. Valentine is probably her best role to date: she’s sharp and subtle, knowable and then suddenly distant, and a late, surprising twist is handled with a brilliant lightness of touch.”

Update: With a U.S. release date now set for April 10, 2015, IFC Films has now released the first domestic trailer for one of the early favorites of the year.

Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloë Grace Moretz light up this scintillating showbiz drama from acclaimed director Olivier Assayas (Carlos). When she’s cast as the older lover in a romantic lesbian drama opposite an upstart young starlet (Moretz), an established middle-aged actress (Binoche) is overcome with personal insecurities and professional jealousies—all while sexual tension simmers between her and her personal assistant (Stewart). A bewitching tale of backstage rivalry, Clouds of Sils Maria is propelled by tour-de-force performances from three actresses at the top of their game.
