New Ecto-1 from GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot

Cadillac Station Wagon

Update: Paul Feig has debuted the first official look at the cast in costume and with the new Ecto-1. Check it out below.

Paul Feig is trying so hard to please Ghostbusters fans. The director of the female-driven reboot gave a glimpse of a familiar car, the new ECTO-1.

Usually I can find at least one good thing about a movie, but I’m struggling with this one. It’s not as cool as the original and the car itself has lost it’s Cadillac shape, but it does look like they got it for real cheap and the look of it is in the correct spirit, including the iconic “No Ghosts” Ghostbusters logo, the ECTO-1 license plate and the ghost (slime) hood ornament from Paul Feig’s Twitter avatar.

Just a quick one to sum things up: instead of an old ambulance this time they convert an old hearse. Personally, I think rebooting is totally unnecessary. But who am I to judge? Check out the latest pics sent from Feig’s Twitter account.

Directed by Feig from a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold, Ghostbusters is currently filming in New York City. Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy will co-star in the comedy targeting a July 22, 2016 release.

The film is also set to feature Chris Hemsworth as their trusty secretary, Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as a character named “Hawkins,” Matt Walsh as a character named “Rourke” and Neil Casey as the film’s villain. Below is Garcia photographed in costume.

Update: Everything in this looks lame to me. The classic Ghostbusters never posed. My least favorite part of these new jump suits are the orange stripes. Maybe ghosts hate bright orange caution looking stripes? See for yourself what that looks like.
