New ‘Ghostbusters’ Villain Details Emerge, Plus New Image

The Ghostbustin’ Gang In Action

The new Ghostbusters reboot villains will be all men. I’m just guessing. However, EW has dropped new details about the plot, trying to shed some light on the spectral bad guys our spook-hunters will be going up against.

According to the site,

“Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.”

Neil Casey will reportedly play the villain of the movie, a character named Rowan. A new photo has also arrived featuring the four main characters played by Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. I hope that trailer isn’t too far off.

Co-starring Chris Hemsworth, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver and Charles Dance, the Paul Feig-directed feature hits theaters July 15, 2016. Take a look at the Ghostbustin’ gang in action below.

The Ghostbustin’ Gang In Action

Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Yates and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
