New ‘Indiana Jones’ Movie “Will Be Coming” Says Bob Iger

In a new interview with Bloomberg, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger confirms that new Indiana Jones movie is coming.

“With George Lucas‘s Star Wars — and Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming, we have more great stories,” Iger said. “And I think in a world where there’s far more content and intellectual property and great choice, I think great stories still stand out.”

The comments follow on from remarks by Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford in recent months about desire to reunite for another story with Dr. Jones. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy also revealed in May that Disney is planning on making a new Indiana Jones movie.

A potential 2018 release date has being rumored too, but that was debunked shortly thereafter by producer Frank Marshall who squashed speculation that Disney was eyeing Chris Pratt to take over the franchise from Ford.

I’d love to see Harrison Ford‘s Indy again so the last film with him isn’t Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. They should get J.J. Abrams to do Indy, diss Lucas a few times, and boom, done, billions.
