New ‘Ip Man 3’ Trailer Released… and Yes, That’s Bruce Lee

Danny Chan As Bruce Lee

Well Go Entertainment has released the first U.S. trailer (via Fandango Movieclips) for the highly-anticipated sequel Ip Man 3, featuring martial arts icon Donnie Yen, along with boxing legend Mike Tyson and Danny Chan as Ip Man’s pupil, Bruce Lee.

The producers had planned on using a CGI version of late martial arts legend, but Bruce Lee‘s family was trying to stop it. It seems that both sides came to some sort of an agreement, with Danny Chan (“The Legend of Bruce Lee” TV series) reprising his role as Lee, but with some degree of CG additions.

Donnie Yen reprises his role as Wing Chun grandmaster Yip Man, squaring off against Max Zhang and Mike Tyson as a property developer who moonlights as a vicious street fighter.

The Wilson Yip-directed offering co-stars Lynn Hung, Jin Zhang, Patrick Tam, Kent Cheng, Meng Lo, Ka-Yan Leung and Karena Ng., and will be released theatrically in the U.S. nationwide on January 22, 2016. The film opens in Hong Kong on December 24, 2015.

Features Donnie Yen

The legend continues as the Grandmaster returns in a brand-new martial arts tour de force that will put his Wing Chun discipline to the test as he faces off against… wait for it… Mike Tyson! That’s right, former undisputed world heavyweight champion boxer “Iron” Mike Tyson goes toe-to-toe with Ip Man (Donnie Yen) in the latest installment of this loosely biographical kung fu series about the legendary martial artist who influenced many, including Bruce Lee.
