Based on Deborah Moggach’s acclaimed novel of the same name, the film – about a married woman who has a passionate affair with an artist sent to paint her portrait – has a starry ensemble that includes Christoph Waltz and Judi Dench, as well as Dane DeHaan, Holliday Grainger, Jack O’Connell, Zach Galifianakis, Dame Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander and Cara Delevingne.

Justin Chadwick‘s new film was shot three years ago and has been moved from a July 15, 2016 release to the August 25, 2017 release date. The studio has now cut the official trailer for Tulip Fever, which can be viewed below.

The Alicia Vikander Starrer

In 17th Century Amsterdam, an orphaned girl (Alicia Vikander) is forcibly married to a rich and powerful merchant (Christoph Waltz) – an unhappy “arrangement” that saves her from poverty. After her husband commissions a portrait, she begins a passionate affair with the painter (Dane DeHaan), a struggling young artist. Seeking to escape the merchant’s ever-reaching grasp, the lovers risk everything and enter the frenzied tulip bulb market, with the hope that the right bulb will make a fortune and buy their freedom.
