New Trailer for ‘Crocodile Dundee’ Reboot with Danny McBride & Chris Hemsworth

A New Crocodile Dundee Film

There’s a new Crocodile Dundee film, and it stars Danny McBride as the long lost American son of the 1980s action headliner and Chris Hemsworth as a local outback expert who joins Brian Dundee on the search for his missing father.

You can check out the new clip for so-called Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home after the jump.

You can also take a look at the first teaser, which shows McBride stepping into the shoes of Paul Hogan and using the famous “That’s not a knife…” line.

Well, that seems like a solid idea but there are a number of reasons people don’t think it’s real:

1. Many film journalists have noted that they haven’t been contacted by Hollywood PR firms to promote the movie, that would almost certainly always be the case with a movie of this scale.
2. Australia’s federal government film agency, Screen Australia, does not list ‘Dundee’ as in pre-production, production or post-production in the country.
3. Chris Hemsworth is a Tourism Australia ambassador.
4. The Superbowl is coming up next week and as we all know, brands like to go big and out of the box for their Superbowl commercials.

Anyway, the on-site synopsis for this otherwise very real movie reads:

Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he’s missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under. It’s time to live up to the family name.
