New Trailer for Guillermo del Toro-Produced ‘Toon THE BOOK OF LIFE

20th Century Fox has debuted a new The Book of Life trailer for the animated film that Guillermo del Toro has produced and voiced by Diego Luna, Channing Tatum, Zoë Saldana, Ice Cube, Ron Perlman, and Christina Applegate among the others.

Directed by Jorge Gutierrez with a bit of help from writer Doug Langdale and the oversight of Del Toro, the film looks like a really fun animation and certainly doesn’t seem like a typical fairytale.

In the vein of Corpse Bride-meets-Romeo and Juliet tale, it’s filled with lush visual imagery and some goofy humor, with Cheech Marin, Danny Trejo and the great Placido Domingo also lending their vocal chords.

Hit the jump to check out the new trailer which has a more humorous tone than we’ve seen in the first one, especially when it comes to Tatum’s prince and Cube’s Zeus-looking character.

The Book of Life hits theaters October 17th, just in time for the Halloween season.

The Book of Life is the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart.
