New Trailer for Revenge Thriller ‘The Revenant’

Alejandro G. Inarritu Film

20th Century Fox has released the full-length trailer for The Revenant, the Western revenge thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.

The new trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s star-studded period epic reveals more of the backstory behind DiCaprio’s character, a fur trapper Hugh Glass mauled by a bear and left for dead by his hunting team, and his conflict with Hardy’s character John Fitzgerald, the first man that he wants vengeance against.

Also starring Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter, Paul Anderson and Lukas Haas, the film based on the novel by Michael Punke is pure old-school Eastwood Western. Penned by Mark Smith and Inarritu himself, and shot entirely in natural light by cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, the film hits theaters on Christmas Day before going wide on January 8, 2016.
