New Trailer for the Bruce Lee-Inspired ‘Birth of the Dragon’

BH Tilt and WWE Studios have unveiled the first official trailer for Birth of the Dragon, a fictional feature based on the controversial fight between an up-and-coming Bruce Lee (Philip Ng) and a legendary Shaolin monk Wong Jack Man (Yu Xia) in 1964.

The cast also includes Jin Xing as Auntie Blossom and Billy Magnussen as a martial arts student, Steve McKee, with Martial Arts Supervisor Corey Yuen overseeing the all-important fight sequences. Directed by writer-turned-filmmaker George Nolfi, and written by Christopher Wilkinson & Stephen J. Rivele, the film first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year.

Birth of the Dragon opens in select theaters on August 25th. Take a look at the trailer below.

Young, up-and-coming martial artist, Bruce Lee, challenges legendary kung fu master Wong Jack Man to a no-holds-barred fight in Northern California. Set against the backdrop of San Francisco’s Chinatown, this cross-cultural film chronicles Bruce Lee’s emergence as a martial-arts superstar after his legendary secret showdown with fellow martial artist Wong Jack Man.
