Whitey Bulger (Johnny Depp) provides some helpful tips for parenting your child effectively in new Black Mass trailer. “If nobody sees it, it didn’t happen,” notorious crime boss tells his six-years old son while we see him killing people willy-nilly.

The upcoming true-crime drama from director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) is set to be released on September 18th and has a great ensemble cast that also includes Kevin Bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, David Harbour, Dakota Johnson, Julianne Nicholson, Jesse Plemons, Adam Scott, Corey Stoll, Juno Temple, and more.

Cinematographer Masanobu Takayanagi killed it on Out of the Furnace and it will be interesting to see how he captures the Black Mass ensemble’s playing in his lens.

Check out the new trailer below. It has personality and it’s fun – the only iffy thing is Rick Ross and Jay Z’s “The Devil is a Lie” song played over the trailer.

“He could be charming. He could be ruthless. He was like a cobra—you never knew where he could strike,” director Cooper said of Bulger, who was imprisoned with two life sentences in November of 2013. “A lot of people on set knew Whitey intimately. They got chills at [Depp’s] resemblance. Some of them couldn’t even look at him. It’s easy to be the mustache twirling villain but this performance couldn’t be further from that. He is truly gifted.”
