New ‘Venom’ Trailer Reveals Tom Hardy’s Alter Ego

Sony’s Spider-Man Spinoff

Sony Pictures has unleashed a third official trailer for Venom movie, which shows off much more of Tom Hardy’s take on the Marvel anti-hero than the previous trailer.

Joining Hardy in the film are Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, and Woody Harrelson.

This comic book movie will put Hardy in the role of Eddie Brock, a tenacious journalist who is investigating the Life Foundation, a business associate of his girlfriend Annie (Williams). The Life Foundation’s leader, the corrupt Dr. Carlton Drake (Ahmed), reveals they discovered an alien life form called symbiotes that have the ability to bond to human hosts. Unfortunately for Brock, one ends up bonding mentally and physically to him, and when it takes over he becomes the lethal protector Venom.

Directed by Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer and written by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, and Kelly Marcel, the long-in-the-works Spider-Man spinoff is set for an October 5, 2018 release date. Check out the newest trailer below.
