Noomi Rapace Won’t Be Returning to ‘Prometheus’ Sequel

Covenant Casting News

Chatting with Baz Bamigboye, director Ridley Scott has hinted that Noomi Rapace won’t be returning to Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant.

The director added, “We’re still casting the main roles.” Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) and Michael Fassbender are the only actors locked in for the film at this time.

It has previously been reported that Rapace’s Dr. Elizabeth Shaw character, the only survivor aside from David (Fassbender) would only have a “small role” in Alien: Covenant – the character likely to have died before the events of the film and thus would only seen in recordings.

Umm, guess she’s been Noomi… replaced. This likely means Alien: Covenant is less of a direct sequel than we were expecting. The script has undergone some re-writes in the lead-up to production which will take place in Sydney, Australia later this year ahead of the film’s October 6, 2017 release date.

Prometheus Sequel

Covenant will hopefully be what Prometheus should have been. Scott discarded all the elements of the dark atmosphere of Gothic fiction which made the original Alien great so here’s hoping he redeems himself with this movie.
