Official Trailer for Frank Langella’s Dark Comedy ‘Youth in Oregon’
Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted an official trailer and poster for the upcoming comedy drama Youth in Oregon, starring Frank Langella, Billy Crudup, Christina Applegate, Mary Kay Place, and Josh Lucas.
Penned by first-time writer Andrew Eisen, the story follows a cranky retired doctor who at his birthday dinner announces that he plans to journey to Oregon to meet with a doctor who’ll approve his self-assisted suicide.
A film from actor-turned-director Joel David Moore first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year. Youth in Oregon will be released in theaters, On Demand and digital on February 3. See the trailer below, along with a synopsis and poster.
When 79-year-old curmudgeon Raymond (Frank Langella) makes arrangements to be euthanized in Oregon, his family refuses to accept his decision. But when another family emergency arises, Raymond’s daughter Kate (Christina Applegate) turns to her husband Brian (Billy Crudup) for a little help. So Brian reluctantly volunteers to drive the cantankerous Raymond and his wine-loving wife Estelle (Mary Kay Place) three thousand miles to Oregon. Determined to change the old man’s mind before they reach the Beaver State, it becomes quickly apparent to Brian that convincing your father-in-law to keep living when he’s ready to check out is no simple task.
Looks like it was a well made road-trip dramedy.
