Olivia Munn to Join Shane Black’s ‘Predator’ Set in the Suburbs

Olivia Munn & Boyd Holbrook

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the X-Men Apocalypse star Olivia Munn is in talks to join Boyd Holbrook in Shane Black‘s The Predator reboot.

Thanks to the site we also know the roles that both actors will be taking on. Munn will reportedly play a scientist opposite Holbrook’s Special Forces commando. It’s still unclear whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role as Dutch from the 1987 original.

Additionally, THR mentions that “the story plunks the deadly alien hunter, who audiences have seen fight in jungles, concrete jungles, frozen wastelands and alien planets, in the harsh environment of … suburbia.”

I can’t imagine what would draw the extra-terrestrial trophy hunter to the suburbs. That sounds so stupid… Because Black previously confirmed that the film remains in the continuity of the first two movies and isn’t a full reboot of the series. I guess 20th Century Fox just turned Predator into Masters of the Universe.

Whatever the case, Black is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fred Dekker. The film is scheduled for a February 9th, 2018 theatrical release. Stay tuned to Film Cutting for more details as they are revealed.
