Oscar Isaac Up for Key Role in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

Firstly, director J.J. Abrams and Disney reportedly planned a “gigantic role” for Harrison Ford in Star Wars: Episode VII, the first film in the upcoming Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Secondly, Inside Llewyn Davis star Oscar Isaac is “in line for a major role,” as is Adam Driver and Attack the Block’s John Boyega.

The rumor mill runs wild in wake of cast revelation and British stage actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers may also join cast, but she has already been linked in the past.

Driver has been rumored to play a Star Wars villain for a few months now and even Zac Efron previously said to have taken a meeting for the sequel.

The big three are, of course, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and above-mentioned Ford, and rumors have swirled that Peter Mayhew‘s Chewbacca and Billy Dee Williams‘ Lando Calrissian will also be back, along with series mainstays C-3P0 and R2-D2.

Apparently J.J. Abrams has “a big table read tomorrow with the cast in London, and so he’s finally going to be forced to fess up shortly.”

Star Wars: Episode VII opens December 18, 2015. Check back for full details as they become available.
