First Trailer for PADDINGTON

The David Heyman-produced CGI live-action movie adaptation of “Paddington Bear” released its first teaser trailer today, giving us a brief look at what the beloved childhood bear looks like on the big screen.

Paddington no doubt looks like a realistic bear cub, but that doesn’t mean he’s any less a lovable teddy.

The story centers on a little brown bear who wears a red hat (voiced by Colin Firth) and is lost at Paddington Station in London. Teddy the cuddly bear adopted by a kind family comes from “Deepest, Darkest Peru”, and sets out in search of an explorer who inspired his aunt years before.

Directed by Paul King (The Mighty Boosh), the film also stars Hugh Bonneville, Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters.

Created by Michael Bond in 1958, the beloved fictional character from children’s literature comes to theaters on December 12, 2014.

And here’s the synopsis:

Paddington follows the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British, who travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realise that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family, who read the label around his neck (‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’) and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist…
