PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 Gets a Title and Release Date

The release date for the Paranormal Activity 5 has been pushed back yet again — this time from its October release date all the way to March 13, 2015.

Luckily, Paramount Pictures has announced a new title for the found footage sequel, which likely signals that studio has finally got their demons in a row. The fright flick will be released as Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and will go up against Disney’s Cinderella and Warner Bros.’ Heart of the Sea, which stars Chris Hemsworth.

All I can say is what a shocker.

Greg Plotkin, who produced the last three installments in the series, will helm The Ghost Dimension from a script by Project Almanac‘s Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark, which is expected to continue the franchise’s main story of the kidnapping demon Katie played by Katie Featherston.

Paranormal Activity 5 was initially slated to open Halloween 2014, but after the Skype-centric fourth installment The Marked Ones flopped, that obviously never came to pass.

Moreover, Paramount has shifted the release date of their horror comedy Scouts vs. Zombies (directed by Christopher Landon, who wrote the last four Paranormal Activity movies and directed the last one) from the March 13th date up to February 20, 2015, where it will square off against Open Road’s The Gunman and Buena Vista’s McFarland USA. Scouts vs. Zombies could be that ‘fresh’ Hollywood film we’ve been waiting a long time for.
