Entertainment Weekly debuted first-look images from Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s highly anticipated sci-fi love story Passengers.

The script, written by Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts, follows passengers on board a posh spacecraft headed for the Homestead II colony 120 years away from the ship’s point of origin.

It’s a romantic comedy set in science fiction environment and “you will laugh and cry and hold your breath and be at the edge of your seat. It has chills. It also will make you smile and laugh a lot. We wanted a playful movie. And if you have Chris and Jen it’s impossible not to have — they’ve come up with a lot of stuff on set,” said director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) in an interview with the EW website.

Sony Pictures has set a Dec. 21 release in the U.S. for Passengers, also starring Laurence Fishburne, Michael Sheen, and Aurora Perrineau. Check out the first two photos below.
