PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 5 Set for July 2017

Today Walt Disney Pictures has confirmed a new release date for the not really eagerly-awaited fourth sequel in the money-making Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Apparently titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth Pirates instalment, originally scheduled for release in 2015, will now arrive on July 7th, 2017.

Disney has pushed the release date back two full years due to script and budget issues.

Kon-Tiki duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg handling directing duties from the script by Catch Me If You Can‘s Jeff Nathanson.

Furthermore, Jerry Bruckheimer produces again, and Johnny Depp will reprise his role as captain Jack Sparrow.

Because Depp is not the star he was five years ago, the people want to see a good movie and a good screenplay should always be the primary focus. It would be cool if they introduced a character that could carry the franchise further. We will see.
