PREDESTINATION First Trailer Starring Ethan Hawke

Today comes the first trailer for Australian time-travel thriller Predestination, starring Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook, the follow-up movie to Spierig Bros.’ vampire thriller Daybreakers.

The film premiered at SXSW this year and  is set to open the Melbourne International Film Festival, before receiving a wide release on August 28th.

PREDESTINATION is the latest adaptation from famed science fiction author Robert Heinlein who penned such classics as Starship Troopers and The Puppet Masters.

The film chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent (Ethan Hawke) sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to ensure the continuation of his law enforcement career for all eternity. Now, on his final assignment, the Agent must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.

Yep, Sarah Snook’s character is the criminal that has been alluding Ethan Hawk’s character for so long.

No word yet on a US release date.

Also starring Noah Taylor, Madeleine West and Christopher Kirby, the mind bending sci-fi film in the vein of Looper with fresh-feeling hooks and some retro-cool styling visually just looks spot on.

That’s what I got out of this, but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.

I really like that the trailer didn’t give too much away. Check out the first poster below.
