Richard Attenborough has Passed Away at the Age of 90


British actor and director Richard Attenborough has passed away Sunday at the age of 90. Best known to U.S. audiences for his role in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park and its first sequel as park creator John Hammond, his career spanned six decades, both as an actor and as a director.

Attenborough won two Oscars, for Best Director and Best Picture, in 1983 for Ghandi. Ten years later, he directed Robert Downey Jr. to his first Best Actor nomination in the biopic Chaplin.

Lord Attenborough’s other prominent roles include parts in the likes of The Great Escape, The Sand Pebbles, Ten Little Indians, The Flight of the Phoenix, and the remake of Miracle on 34th Street.
