‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Named Most Anticipated Movie of 2016

A Star Wars Story

Hot on the heels of the blockbuster success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the next film on the Star Wars release calendar, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was named as the most-anticipated film of 2016 in a survey conducted by online ticketing service Fandango.

The first Star Wars spinoff beat out the long-awaited Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the new Jason Bourne film and Captain America: Civil War. I just love how Disney has been pushing Star Wars, diversity-wise. Let’s join them in chasing that dream.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One arrives in theaters on December 16, 2016, starring Felicity Jones, Donnie Yen, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, and Mads Mikkelsen. A movie featuring a female lead and an Asian co-star takes place before the events of A New Hope and tells the story about how a band of rebels who stole the plans to the first Death Star.
