Rose Byrne’s Moira MacTaggert is Back for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Moira MacTaggert

In an interview with EW, producer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg revealed that the lovely Rose Byrne (Neighbors) is set to return as CIA Agent Moira MacTaggert in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming superhero-sequel X-Men: Apocalypse.

“She’s a significant character in the movie. We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them… It’s certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class, and would like to mine more in this one.”

Uh…I honestly cannot see what she can do in this movie…That will make all the mutants go “we need her help!” (lol)

Kinberg reiterated that the latest film will be tie up existing character arcs:

“This movie is the completion of the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who are essentially our main characters. They’re such young actors and young characters, so there’s a lot more story to tell. But as a first phase of their lives, there is this feeling of closure by the end of the movie.”

Yea, I’m glad this is the last movie with these people. I’m really hoping the next X-Men movie might actually have the X-Men as main characters.

We recently discovered that Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones“), Alexandra Shipp (“Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B“) and Tye Sheridan (Mud) had landed the roles of young Jean Grey, aka Marvel Girl/Phoenix, Storm/Ororo Munroe and Scot Summer/Cyclops respectively.

The Bryan Singer-directed X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit theaters on May 27, 2016 with Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Channing Tatum and Oscar Isaac set to star.
