Rumor: Bryan Singer’s X-MEN Universe Will End After WOLVERINE 3

X-Men Universe Will End

Rumor has it that “X-Men: Apocalypse & Wolverine 3” will be “the end of the Bryan Singer X-Men universe.”

Former Latino Review scooper Umberto Gonzalez posted a rumor recently on his Instagram account that Singer’s Apocalypse and James Manglod‘s Wolverine 3 may serve to cap-off the current series of films.

The Wolverine 3 will indeed be Hugh Jackman’s last go as the ferocious mutant Logan/Wolverin and it’s also highly unlikely that Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult will return to the franchise following Apocalypse, so now seems like a good time to reboot the world Singer created back in 2000 and tied it to the X-Men: First Class world, which would likely include Gambit, the new Deadpool and maybe even the newly rebooted Fantastic Four.

But if Apocalypse does well, why not let the younger folks to take over and maybe have one film without Wolverine and then introduce the new clawed one after that?

Well, we’ll just have to wait and see, that’s all we can do. X-Men: Apocalypse lands in theaters May 27, 2016. Singer described it to Empire as “a big monster of a movie”, with “global” stakes and a “mythic” villain. He also confirmed that the movie will take place in 1983, ten years after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Check out the new concept art in the gallery below, which gives us a glimpse at Professor X’s 1980’s tech, including Cerebro and the X-Jet, as well as a first look at a catacomb that obviously dates back to ancient Egypt.
